Overview
The role is for an OEM Liaison Manager within the GME TD (Global Marine and Energy, Technology Deployment) team. The role sits within BP’s Advanced Mobility and Industrial Products (AMIP) organisation, located within the Innovation & Engineering (I&E) segment, supporting Castrol’s Subsea business.
Entity: Technology. Job Family Group: Research & Technology Group. The responsibilities include managing technical relationships with key Energy industry OEMs, leading technology deployment and supporting new product development activities, securing product OEM qualification and endorsement, and providing support to customer issues relating to lubricants and hardware. The scope includes all Energy industry OEMs such as subsea system vendors and subsea control suppliers, as well as all operators and customers. The role may oversee Energy lab activities and coordinate with related GME and AMIP teams.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with key technical groups in the Energy industry.
- Oversee Energy lab activities and coordinate internal and external testing requests.
- Serve as the first point of contact at the working level and represent BP Lubes technology at OEMs’ technical centres.
- Work with OEMs to understand equipment design and application principles to gain insights into OEM needs.
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with OEMs to support the BP Lubricants business strategy.
- Present technical data to OEMs to support ongoing technical dialogue and product approval applications.
- Coordinate with product development teams on OEM trends and act as a subject matter expert.
- Develop lubricant technology offers with responsible PD teams and influence OEM engagement with such offers.
- Maintain and support the BP approval process to achieve required approvals with minimum turnaround times for marketing activities.
- Manage OEM approvals records relating to BP lubricant products.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure BP product range complies with OEM and integrity rules.
- Represent BP on relevant Industry Networks as required.
- Foster links with GME Operating Unit functions (Sales and customer-facing Technical teams) to deploy industry-leading products and services.
- Influence future technology strategy by contributing to product roadmaps and research activities.
- Develop and share expertise to facilitate continuous improvement, including bespoke test methodology, peer reviews, and engineering advice.
Qualifications
Essential Education
- Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related science subject.
Essential Criteria
- Credibility to represent bp/Castrol technology within the OEMs.
- Extensive experience presenting technology to third parties.
- Proven track record building relationships and networks.
- Strong teamwork and collaborative approach.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
Desirable Criteria and Qualifications
- Experience of lubricant product development or deployment, with specific experience relating to the GME Energy product range.
- Knowledge of oil and gas infrastructure and related lubricant products (e.g., subsea production systems, subsea control systems, subsea control fluids, offshore hardware and architecture).
- Knowledge of offshore products and applications (e.g., subsea oil and gas production systems, subsea control systems).
- Understanding of global environmental legislation applicable to offshore and marine lubricants (e.g., REACH, OSPAR).

- Travel: Up to 10% travel should be expected with this role.
