Support Worker / Supervised Contact Worker

Location: Greenwich (Surrounding areas)

Salary: £15.00 – £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible hours available

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Support Worker / Supervised Contact Worker to join our dedicated team. In this rewarding role, you will support children, young people, and families during supervised contact sessions, ensuring that interactions take place in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.

You will also provide one-to-one support to children and families, promoting their emotional well‑being, safeguarding their welfare, and helping them to build healthy relationships and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and record contact sessions between children, parents, and family members in line with safeguarding guidelines.
  • Produce detailed, factual, and professional reports for local authorities and social workers.
  • Support children and families in line with individual care or contact plans.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, and dignity of all participants during sessions.
  • Provide transport for children where necessary (mileage reimbursed).
  • Communicate effectively with social workers, carers, and other professionals.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, young people, or families (essential).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and report‑writing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred).
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
