Supply Chain Project Manager – Major Infrastructure Programme – Midlands (Hybrid – 3 x a week on site). This role focuses on building and shaping a supply chain ecosystem from the ground up for a major construction programme worth £2bn+ over 10 years, working with suppliers, SMEs, and strategic partners to ensure readiness, resilience, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Mobilisation: Identify, engage, and onboard the right suppliers in a market with significant barriers to entry.
  • Development: Embed performance management, sustainability, health & safety, and social value across the supply chain.
  • Engagement: Drive SME participation and develop local supply chain capability to meet long-term commitments.
  • Build and sustain a world-class supply chain across a major infrastructure programme.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, SMEs, and strategic partners to ensure readiness and compliance.

Ideal Candidate Background / Qualifications

  • Background in supply chain development/engagement (construction experience with a Tier 1 contractor is a bonus).
  • Skilled in supplier relationship management, performance management, and risk/compliance oversight.
  • Experience operating on highly regulated projects (nuclear/defence/infrastructure experience is an advantage).
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills – able to work with a variety of personalities and suppliers.
  • Keen, proactive, and collaborative – more of a facilitator and developer than a transactional buyer.
