Primary Purpose of the Role:
The Integration, Verification, Validation & Qualification (IVVQ) team provide an IVVQ, Installation, Setting-to-work, and development and acceptance trials service to a DA-CIP programme.
The IVVQ role provides an end-user perspective to these activities, in that the products being tested are assessed with respect to being fit for operation.
The candidate will be required to maintain an excellent working relationship with the Customer and End User communities, understanding their needs and communicating this effectively to the relevant business sector in a manner which ensures product and staff development is maintained.
Principal Relationships:
- The IVVQM & Integration SEMs to ensure customer acceptance activities are completed.
- With the Design Engineers to communicate and track compliance issues form detection through to resolution
- With the Customer and End-User community.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Manage the Integration, Verification & Validation of Sonars through all activities in the SIT&S lifecycle:
- Provision Systems engineering support to Hardware & Software teams during subsystem integration activities
- Generation of System Test Plans, Procedures & Results
- Creation of System Release, Installation & Setting to Work instructions
- Support to the IVVQ Manager, Installation Manager & Field Service Team during ship installation, setting to work & trials
- Review the IVVQ plans and Specifications for subcontracted items
Skills
Essential
Systems Engineering experience, including knowledge of tools & processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with Customer and End-User community.
Desirable
Ability to apply Sonar experience to product acceptance
Experience:
Essential
- Record of delivery of IVVQ within Maritime Defence sector
- Support to Field Service Teams during ship installation, setting to work & trials
Desirable
- Experience of Surface ASW Operational Environment regards the associated Sonars, Command and Control Systems and the roles undertaken.
- Knowledge of Sonar architectures and performance
Qualifications:
Essential
Degree, or equivalent, in engineering or scientific subject.
Desirable
Membership of appropriate engineering or scientific Institute.
