Systems IVVQ Manager

Thales Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) is looking for an Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification Manager (IVVQM) to define, develop and lead the IVVQ strategy across all large design and development projects. The role supports Land, Sea and Air domains and can run one or multiple projects or a full product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all IVVQ activities on behalf of Thales OME with the customer.
  • Prepare IVVQ plans, work breakdown structures and schedules for IVVQ activities.
  • Engage with project/bid requirement leads and customers to embed IVVQ in the early planning stages.
  • Design and implement System Integration Verification, Validation & Qualification activities.
  • Define IVVQ strategy, set requirements and manage associated estimates and schedules.
  • Specify required test equipment, including any type‑specific equipment.
  • Specify, select and deploy methodologies (metrics), tools and platforms necessary for IVVQ and acceptance activities.
  • Propose IVVQ scenarios and manage their implementation.
  • Perform or organise testing at manufacturer sites, customer premises or external test facilities.
  • Manage and support a trials team.
  • Analyse results and produce technical reports.
  • Review internal and external technical artefacts (Requirements Specifications, ICDs, Design Documentation and Architecture Documents) from an IVVQ perspective.
  • Operationally lead the IVVQ Engineering Team, ensuring delivery of all IVVQ work products to time, cost, and quality.
  • Coordinate governance reviews for the IVVQ phase of the product development lifecycle.
  • Support customer meetings for IVVQ activities and lead product demonstrations with key stakeholders and customers.
  • Collate evidence to support population of the product VVRM for system certification.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background and proven experience in defining and leading IVVQ for multi‑disciplinary engineering projects. They will be customer focused, communicate clearly, and manage multiple parallel objectives. Knowledge of defence or highly regulated industries is beneficial.

Security Clearance

This role requires SC Clearance. It is an advantage if currently held; otherwise, the successful applicant must undergo, achieve and maintain SC Clearance.

For reference, to be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
