Team Leader:We have a fantastic opportunityin our Motor Engineering team as a Team Leader for our Northern based fieldengineers.As a Team Leader you willbe responsible for all aspects of customer service and indemnity spend withinyour team. You will also be responsible for the monitoring of your team usingdepartment measures data to improve performance. Also ensuring that companyprocesses and compliance are adhered to.
As a Team Leader you will carryout annual and half-yearly performance reviews, be responsible for developingyour team, and for ensuring that suitable development plans are in place. As aTeam Leader you will monitor adherence to the complaints process and carry outroot cause analysis with a view to improving customer journey. You will alsorepresent your team, the department and/or their operations leader on newinitiatives, projects & process changes where required.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leadby Example: Motivate, coach, and develop ahigh-performing team of motor engineers, conducting regular performance reviewsand identifying training needs
- TechnicalExpertise & Compliance: Providehands-on support to ensure repair methods are followed and claims costs arecontrolled, while maintaining adherence to FCA, TCF, GDPR, and other regulatorystandards.
- PerformanceManagement: Drive data-led developmentconversations, maintain accurate staff records, and carry out monthly qualityaudits to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- FraudPrevention: Ensure fraud is identified andinvestigated using all available techniques, protecting the integrity of claimshandling.
- Process& Cost Efficiency: Identify and embedimprovements that enhance customer outcomes, streamline operations, and reduceindemnity spend.
- OperationalOversight: Manage team workloadeffectively, prioritise tasks for maximum cost control, and communicatesuccesses and challenges to the Ops Leader.
Skills and experience:
- Leadership& Coaching: Proven ability to lead,motivate, and develop teams in line with the Ageas Leaders framework, includingperformance reviews and coaching
- Technical& Industry Expertise: Extensiveknowledge of motor vehicles, repair techniques, estimating, and fieldengineering, with IAEA membership and AQP accreditation
- Customer& Complaint Handling: Skilledin managing complex complaints, communicating with tact and diplomacy, andresolving engineering disputes effect
- Communication& Collaboration: Strong verbal and writtenskills, able to explain technical procedures clearly and work effectively withsuppliers, customers, and internal teams
- Commercial& Analytical Acumen:Commercially aware with the ability to interpret data, identify fraud, and useinsights to build team capability and control costs.
- Organisation& Resilience: Highly organised, adaptable tochange, and resilient under pressure, with strong prioritisation andproblem-solving skills.
