Technical Artist – Assistant Production Coordinator at Segritude Games (United Kingdom)
About Us: Segritude Games was established in May 2023 in Oxfordshire. Our growing team brings together a range of skills and expertise, working collectively to develop a game that stands out in the industry. We offer a flexible contract agreement requiring a minimum of contracted hours per week and are actively pursuing investment and funding opportunities to support and compensate our team based on revenue from sales or secured funding.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Technical Artist to bridge the gap between art and programming for our open‑world PvPvE survival game. In this role, you will develop and optimise art pipelines, create efficient shader and material setups, and ensure visual quality and performance across all in‑game assets in Unreal Engine 5. You will work closely with environment artists, 3D artists, and programmers to maintain smooth workflows, implement visual features, and solve complex technical challenges. This position requires strong knowledge of Unreal Engine, performance optimisation, and experience supporting teams with efficient art‑to‑engine integration. It is a remote contractor role offering flexible working hours, with compensation beginning once project funding is secured; all hours are tracked and documented.
Job Description
As a Technical Artist, you will develop tools, shaders, and workflows that improve the efficiency and quality of asset creation and implementation. You will ensure that assets are properly optimised for real‑time performance and help maintain consistency in materials, lighting, and rendering. You will also support the art and programming teams by identifying technical issues, creating solutions, and ensuring that assets transition smoothly from DCC tools into Unreal Engine. This role requires a balance of artistic understanding, technical skill, and an eye for performance and scalability.
