About the Role

I am currently partnered with a Global professional services organisation to the maritime industry. We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a transformative project focused on simplifying and re-architecting complex systems. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical understanding and strong stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll be instrumental in stripping back legacy systems to their core, supporting architectural redesign, and ensuring streamlined data and workflow processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and simplify existing systems.
  • Support the re-architecture of systems to align with modern architecture principles.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand and document data flows and technical workflows.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure business needs are met and systems are user-centric.
  • Assist in developing the business case for system transformation.
  • Engage empathetically with culturally diverse teams, including surveyors and global stakeholders.
  • Ensure end-to-end system understanding and integration.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business units, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.
  • Support the adoption of architecture principles and best practices.
  • Contribute to project planning and delivery, even in the absence of a dedicated project manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in technical environments.
  • Business Analysis Professional Qualification (e.g. BCS)
  • Strong understanding of architecture principles, data flow, and system re-engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with complex systems (e.g., utilities, case management, bespoke platforms).
  • Systems-oriented mindset with a passion for simplification and optimisation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in hybrid settings.
  • Global experience is a plus.
