Technical Director - Fire Engineering at WSP in the UK & Ireland.

Join to apply for the role and help shape fire engineering design with a global engineering and professional services firm. This role involves leading fire engineering work across diverse projects while maintaining high standards of fire safety and architectural integrity.

Your new role, what’s involved

As a Technical Director, you’ll typically work on a variety of projects at once, from a University in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, with plenty of international projects. The goal is to enable innovative architectural design without compromising on the fire safety of the building.

• Run through design information and liaise with other WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics and Structures
• Present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service
• Help inform the design team about changes to increase the safety of the building
• Be guided through a variation of software packages, fire standards, team briefings and client updates from the start
• Contribute to professional registration support via IFE and other professional organisations

Qualifications and experience

• BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Extensive experience within the fire engineering consulting industry
• This role can be based from any of our UK major offices
