Job Description

We are collaborating with this organization to identify a talented Technical Product Manager specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This pivotal role is tailored for professionals with a strong engineering background, particularly those making the transition from engineering or software development to product management. The Technical Product Manager (TPM) will be essential in connecting the dots between AI engineering, data architecture, and product strategy, ensuring that business requirements are seamlessly converted into actionable user stories and scalable solutions across various data layers.

This position calls for a deep understanding of the intricacies of modern AI systems, including Generative AI, LLMs, and SLMs. The TPM will engage directly with engineering teams and stakeholders to drive product development while managing the integration of advanced technologies into AI/ML workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Product Ownership & Strategy
  • Lead the execution and strategy for AI-powered systems, with a focus on LLMs, SLMs, and agent-based AI applications.
  • Convert business and product requirements into technical user stories and storyboards ready for engineering execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to establish delivery milestones and ensure consistent alignment on AI initiatives.
• System Architecture & Data Layers
  • Articulate the necessary system architecture to support AI use cases effectively.
  • Facilitate seamless integration across three essential data layers: internal, platform, and client.
  • Oversee the integration of vector databases and client-side data models within AI/ML frameworks.
• Collaboration & Technical Alignment
  • Engage closely with engineering teams leveraging Spark and OpenAI technologies to ensure that design decisions are aligned with product goals.
  • Work alongside a Product Owner who specializes in Jira to manage project backlogs and sprint outcomes.
  • Act as the primary liaison between AI engineering teams and business stakeholders, clarifying technical trade-offs.
• Execution & Delivery
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to AI/ML projects.
  • Implement systematic processes in dynamic and ambiguous settings.
  • Ensure the successful and timely delivery of AI features that align with overall product strategies.

Requirements

• Background
  • Minimum of 5 years in technical product management, AI/ML engineering, or similar technology leadership roles.
  • Strong foundation in Machine Learning engineering, ideally transitioning into a product-focused role.
  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments is highly valued.
• Technical Skills
  • Expertise in Generative AI, particularly with technologies like OpenAI/ChatGPT, alongside LLMs and SLMs.
  • Deep understanding of system architecture that supports LLM/SLM applications.
  • Proficiency in Spark, SQL, and familiarity with data modeling and prompt modeling techniques.
  • Ability to read and write code to a degree that facilitates review, validation, and translation of engineering work.
  • Experience with contemporary data stack tools such as Databricks and vector databases.
• Soft Skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of aligning both technical and business needs.
  • Proficient in creating user stories and process documents that engineering teams can effectively execute.
