Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in manual testing, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines across infrastructures. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through robust testing strategies, automation, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Location
Location: We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel to Winchester once or twice a week.
Responsibilities
- Good Experience in Manual Testing and SQL Server
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using modern tools (e.g. Playwright, Selenium)
- Create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to ensure quality from the start
- Monitor, track and report on defects and test results
- Lead troubleshooting and debugging of test failures and platform issues
- Drive continuous improvement of QA practices, automation coverage and pipeline efficiency
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
Skills
- Automation Testing Strong hands-on experience with frameworks like Playwright, Selenium, or similar
- Programming Proficient in Python; knowledge of Robot Framework is a plus
- Testing Expertise Skilled in UI and API test automation
- Cloud & CI/CD Practical experience with AWS (preferred), or Azure/GCP; strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools
- Pipeline Tools Familiar with AWS Code Pipeline, CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
- Database Very proficient in SQL Server Querying
- Problem Solving Strong debugging, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Collaboration Excellent communicator, able to work closely with cross-functional teams
- Organisation Strong time management and ability to deliver across multiple priorities
Knowledge & Experience
- Solid experience in test automation and QA engineering roles
- Proven ability to build test frameworks from scratch
- Familiarity with testing cloud-based environments and continuous delivery practices
- Experience leading testing initiatives within agile/DevOps teams
- Experience working with Test Management Tool JIRA
