TH CAMHS Assistant Psychologist | East London NHS Foundation Trust
3 Days Old
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Triage and Emotional & Behavioural Teams. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Band 5 Assistant Psychologist to join our energetic staff group.
We are a team of creative, vibrant, and thoughtful clinicians who are passionate about providing care to young people, families, and our community. TH CAMHS provides flexible, evidence-based service providing episodes of care, assessments, and treatments to a wide variety of clinical presentations. Staff wellbeing and development are important focuses in the team.
The service includes professionals from various disciplines including psychiatry, nursing, social workers, psychology, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, and family therapy, who come together to provide high quality holistic care for young people and their families. We have rich multi-disciplinary discussions and you will regularly be a part of these meetings.
This is a great opportunity to do direct clinical work within an assistant psychology role!
Supervision will be provided by qualified clinical psychologists. There will also be opportunities for continuing professional development, including regular training and a monthly group facilitated by other Assistant Psychologists within the service line.
The post-holder will:
Complete triage assessments for new referrals with a wide range of presenting issues, appropriate to the training and skills level of the assistant psychologist, and under appropriate supervision.
Make recommendations for onward referrals and treatment needed of young people in conjunction with the triage team and/or the clinical supervisor.
Communicate the outcome and recommendations of triage assessments to young people, families, schools, and external agencies. Write letters, referrals and reports as appropriate with outcomes and recommendations.
Support young people and families through the guided-self-help ‘Luminova’, an online CBT-based program for children. This includes maintaining the database of young people receiving the intervention and collecting outcome measures.
Be involved in other activities supporting the team functioning as required. For example, maintaining the database of third sector agencies, which we refer to.
The post holder will be supported to gain experience on the delivery of evidence based interventions for children, young people and families under the supervision of qualified clinical psychologists. There may also be scope for the post holder to contribute towards our service groups’ interventions offer.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
The service offers hybrid working and therefore, there will be flexibility to do some remote working. This is subject to change in line with service needs.
Please see Job Description and Personal Specification for full details of role requirements.
