Join our team as Training Employer Manager.
Role purpose
To provide a first-class standard of quality assurance to the Education & Training Department's functions in respect of Authorised Training Employers & Principals (ATEs & ATPs).
Responsibilities
- To assess and, where appropriate, approve organisations/individuals as ICAEW ATEs/ATPs in conformity with the Training Standards and allied regulations, procedures and processes.
- To periodically review ATEs/ATPs to ensure that all required standards are being adhered to and that ATE/ATP status may continue.
- To be involved in the processing of audit qualification applications
- To contribute to the operation and development of ATE/ATP regulatory work, e.g. compliance with FRC, ICAEW regulations etc.
- To contribute to the development and operation of the ACA in respect of the work-place elements.
- To meet targets for completion of training authorisations and reviews.
- Specific duties will vary from time to time in line with the business needs.
Candidate Profile
- Driving licence and a car.
- A suitable home working environment.
- The ability to work alone and be self-motivated
- A strong interest in the training of ACA students and understanding of the journey to qualification
- The ability to question presented facts; to look for evidence to support statements and assumptions.
- The ability to question and hold difficult conversations where necessary.
- Technical and business awareness.
- A wide and up to date knowledge of the accountancy profession and its current challenges, especially in respect of the oversight of the profession.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including excellent organisational and time management skills.
- An understanding of the issues faced by ICAEW members in practice and business, and how they impact training.
- Knowledge of the Next Gen ACA
- A thorough understanding of ICAEW's regulations for education and training.
- In depth knowledge of the different categories of ATEs/ATPs
- Understanding of the responsibilities of ICAEW role holders, for example QPRTs and counsellors
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as word, excel and Dynamics 365
