This role has a starting salary of £61,784 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

We are excited to be hiring a new Transition Manager to join our fantastic Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) based at Woodhatch Place in Reigate. This role is open to hybrid working and as a team we split our time between collaborating together in the office and working from home.

About the Role

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is embarking on a significant transformation journey as it disaggregates from Surrey County Council. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transition Manager to lead and coordinate this complex and high-profile programme.

This pivotal role will oversee the development and delivery of the disaggregation programme, ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining the highest standards of fire and rescue services. You will be responsible for defining deliverables, managing multiple workstreams, and ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional who can bring clarity, structure, and leadership to a complex organisational change programme. Local Government Reorganisation

Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation which will allow us to implement the Government led policy of devolution, which is all about giving more powers to local areas.

Currently, Surrey has a two-tier council system, with 11 district and borough councils and a county council, all responsible for different services. All these councils will be reorganised into a smaller number of new unitary councils which will come into effect in April 2027. At this point, this role will be transferred, with all existing terms and conditions intact into one of the new unitary councils.
