Overview

Unlock your Superpower working on High Voltage Assets to support the efficient power flow on the High Voltage Transmission System. We’re looking for an engineer who has a background in working with high voltage transmission assets to support variable scale high priority projects to ensure our HV assets are available to serve the power flows across England and Wales.

As the Transmission Network Engineer, you will assure, with authorised support (or depending on experience), the project design, delivery, and recovery process for all Primary and Secondary technology types, including faults and investigations. You will also ensure the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Sustainability, Environmental considerations, and Resilience are applied in maintaining high power system reliability.

We are interested to review which transmission assets you have experience with and could become part of the team to support multiple technologies. These technologies include High Voltage Wound Plant, Bushings, Instrument Transformers, Switchgear, Cables, Reactive Plant and Transmission Control or Pressure systems.

Your contributions will be vital in assisting with the annual Asset Health Review, ensuring the reliability and performance of our critical infrastructure. This role requires national travel across England and Wales.

This role is based out of one of our National Grid offices. We’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you.
