Overview
EdUKaid seeks to appoint a Trust Fundraising Officer on a freelance basis. The ideal appointee will have experience in writing and submitting high quality proposals and applications to a variety of UK and international grant funders, cultivating and stewarding relationships with trusts and preparing reports. The role will report to the UK Programme Director.
EdUKaid aims to secure successful applications of restricted and/or unrestricted new funds. Fundraising targets will be set and monitored in the first six months of the appointment. The timespan for this targeted income could be over 12 months dependent on application timelines.
Role and objectives
The Fundraiser would be expected to independently work to reach the 2025/2026 fundraising target, identify suitable data including funds and trusts, and make quality applications leading to securing new multiyear funding streams for the charity. This strategic investment in fundraising will forge stronger connections, provide better services, and cultivate lasting, transformative change in the lives of the people at the heart of our mission.
Responsibilities
- Independently work to reach the 2025/2026 fundraising target.
- Identify suitable data including funds and trusts and make quality applications leading to securing new multiyear funding streams.
- Research potential donors and identify new opportunities for international multi-year fundraising.
- Accurate and timely data input, collection and analysis.
- Write grant proposals and submit grant applications to secure funding for the organization.
Experience and qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in fundraising, grant writing, or non-profit development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remotely work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with donor databases and financial reporting.
- Good IT skills, confident in the use of Google Docs and data systems to keep accurate and up-to-date records of funding applications, grants and donor interactions, and video conferencing platforms (Google Meet/Teams/Zoom).
- Right to work in the UK.
Location and compensation
Remote working; occasional meetings may be requested in Salisbury or Stone, subject to agreement by both parties.
Rate: Daily rate will be agreed subject to experience and will include VAT (if applicable) and any expenses (excluding travel if requested).
Contract details and application process
This is a freelance opportunity. The successful applicant will arrange their own national insurance and tax. No holiday or pension pay is applicable.
