As we prepare for our European market launch, we are building a dedicated Product & Design team in London to ensure our platform meets the complex needs of businesses operating across multiple markets, currencies, and regulatory environments.

Role Overview

We are seeking a UX Designer – Europe to be part of Stratos Pay’s founding European design team. You’ll work on end-to-end design challenges: from research and discovery through to prototyping and delivery. The role demands a mix of creative problem-solving and structured design thinking to simplify some of the most complex experiences in fintech — making compliance-heavy, cross-border processes feel seamless and intuitive.

Key Responsibilities

User Research & Insights

• Plan, conduct, and analyse user research across diverse European markets (e.g. SMEs, corporates, and financial institutions).

• Partner with product managers to define research objectives that directly inform roadmap priorities.

• Build customer personas and journey maps to reflect the realities of cross-border payment users.

• Gather feedback continuously via usability tests, interviews, surveys, and data analytics.

Product & Experience Design

• Own the end-to-end design of key user journeys across onboarding, KYC/AML compliance, cross-border transfers, FX conversion, and transaction tracking.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that communicate solutions effectively to stakeholders.

• Localise and adapt flows for multiple European markets, considering language, currency, cultural differences, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with engineers during development, ensuring designs are implemented accurately and deliver the intended experience.

• Use data and feedback to iterate quickly, improving adoption and reducing friction.

Design Systems & Consistency

• Contribute to Stratos Pay’s design system (components, patterns, interaction models) to ensure consistency across products and geographies.

• Champion accessibility and inclusivity standards (WCAG), ensuring the platform works for all users.

• Document design decisions and maintain clear specifications for development handover.

Collaboration & Influence

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, compliance, and marketing to deliver unified experiences.

• Present design concepts and rationale to leadership, investors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Promote user-centred design thinking across Stratos Pay, educating colleagues on best practices.

• Contribute to shaping the culture, practices, and processes of the new European design function.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–5 years of proven experience as a UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role, ideally in fintech, SaaS, or another complex, data-driven product environment.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in user-centred design, with examples of simplifying complex workflows.

• Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, plus prototyping tools (InVision, Marvel, or similar).

• Hands-on experience in user research, usability testing, and iterative design processes.

• Comfort designing for multi-market and multi-currency environments, with sensitivity to cultural UX differences.

• Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven industries (finance, payments, healthcare, etc.) is a strong plus.

• Strong visual design skills paired with systematic thinking — able to contribute to scalable design systems.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to present work to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling startup environment.

• Passion for solving complex challenges with simple, elegant, and user-friendly solutions.
