About The Role
We are seeking a talented UX Designer to join a pioneering scientific software company based in High Wycombe, offering a hybrid work environment with three days in the office and two days remote. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing user experiences for complex technical products used by the global scientific community. The ideal candidate will have a scientific or engineering background, with a passion for creating intuitive, user-centered designs that enhance the functionality and usability of sophisticated software tools. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including developers, testers, and product owners, to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with the company's vision and technical standards.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a relevant Science or Engineering qualification, complemented by formal software training if not specifically in software engineering. A minimum of two years of proven experience in user-centered design and prototyping is essential. Proficiency in design and interaction software such as Figma or Adobe XD is required. Candidates should have experience working within Agile methodologies in cross-functional teams and be adept at gathering requirements through collaboration with product owners and developers. A comprehensive understanding of UX and UI principles is vital, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to evolving market trends and design standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering functionality for upcoming software releases, working under supervision and guidance from senior team members.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure design principles are maintained, and branding guidelines are adhered to throughout the development process.
- Contribute to maintaining and evolving UI standards by researching current market trends and integrating best practices into the design workflow.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to understand technical requirements and translate them into user-friendly interfaces.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate ideas and facilitate stakeholder feedback.
- Support the continuous improvement of user experience by analyzing user feedback and usability testing results.
