About The Role
As a UX Designer at Triad, you will play a vital role in delivering impactful digital solutions for our diverse range of clients. Working either at client locations, remotely, or from our offices in Godalming or Milton Keynes, you will be responsible for designing user‑centered digital experiences that meet user needs and business goals. Your expertise will help shape the UX language of Triad, ensuring consistency and quality across projects. You will conduct user research, analyze findings, and translate insights into compelling wireframes, prototypes, and detailed design artefacts. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with stakeholders, developers, business analysts, and product to create intuitive, accessible, and inclusive services. Your creative problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly will be essential in this role, with a strong portfolio of successful UX work demonstrating your capabilities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent qualification related to UX, design, psychology, or a related field. Candidates should be eligible and willing to achieve SC clearance, with a minimum residency of 5 years in the UK and the right to work in the UK. A portfolio showcasing your UX work is required and will be reviewed during the selection process. Knowledge of front‑end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as familiarity with analytical tools like Google Analytics, is desirable. Certifications in UX or related disciplines, along with experience working within government digital standards (GDS), will be advantageous. Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail are essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct comprehensive user research using methods such as interviews, surveys, and contextual inquiries to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze research data, triangulate findings across multiple sources, and synthesize insights to inform design decisions.
- Create and maintain artefacts including personas, user journeys, service blueprints, and information architecture diagrams to guide design development.
- Design wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity visuals using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Axure, or Balsamiq, iterating based on stakeholder and user feedback.
- Develop interactive prototypes at various fidelity levels to facilitate user testing and design validation.
- Initiate, plan, and facilitate workshops with stakeholders and end‑users to gather insights, align expectations, and foster collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and product owners to shape and refine user experiences, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Conduct usability testing, analyze results, and implement improvements to enhance service effectiveness and user satisfaction.
- Ensure research activities and designs are inclusive, accessible, and adhere to WCAG 2.2 standards, considering users with varying levels of digital literacy and accessibility needs.
- Design information architecture and navigation systems that facilitate successful user journeys across digital platforms.
- Define success metrics with stakeholders to enable ongoing evaluation and iterative improvements of services.
- Work within Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and reviews to deliver iterative design solutions.
- Advocate for user‑centered design principles within client teams, providing training, mentoring, and best practice guidance.
- Contribute actively to Triad’s Community of Practice, sharing knowledge, learning from industry developments, and promoting design excellence.
