Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
New Yesterday
For more than 70 years, Lynton Vets has been at the heart of the Addlestone community, caring for generations of pets and their families. We're proud of the trusted relationships we've built, and we're now looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated and compassionate team. Here, patient care and meaningful connections with clients always come first.
A Practice Designed for Comfort
Our picturesque Addlestone branch offers a warm and welcoming environment for both pets and people. With two consult rooms, a cosy reception, a theatre, kennels, a dispensary, and in-house lab facilities, we're well equipped for everyday care. For more advanced procedures, our Woking hospital provides additional surgical facilities, giving you the best of both worlds, a close-knit practice life supported by modern hospital standards.
Variety in Your Day
Life at Lynton is never dull. Our vets enjoy a balance of consulting and surgery, with caseloads ranging from routine neutering and lump removals to soft tissue procedures. Prefer to focus more on consulting, or lean towards surgery? We're happy to shape the role around your skills and passions, giving you the freedom to work in a way that suits you best.
Skilled Nursing Support
Our talented Registered Veterinary Nurses are central to how we work. They run their own clinics, managing second vaccinations, post-op checks, discharges, admits, and repeat medications. In theatre, they're right there alongside our vets, ensuring every patient is cared for with precision and compassion. Their expertise allows our vets to focus on what they do best, knowing their patients are in safe hands.
A Team That Feels Like Family
Across our practices, you'll be supported by a friendly and experienced team of seven Veterinary Surgeons, ten Registered Veterinary Nurses, student nurses, ANAs, and a brilliant reception crew. We're proud to be a team that truly enjoys working together and supporting one another. Professional growth is encouraged too-one of our vets is completing a certificate in Dentistry, and we welcome a visiting orthopaedic specialist on a regular basis. Beyond the clinic, giving back is important to us, and we actively support charities such as Cats Protection, Guide Dogs, and Dogs Trust.
Grow With Us
We believe your development is as important as the care you provide. Whether you're working towards a certificate, expanding your clinical skills, or simply want to keep learning, we'll support you with funded CPD, time to study, and encouragement to reach your goals.
Balance That Works for You
This is a full-time role across four days and 40 hours, with no out-of-hours commitment. You'll be part of our 1:4 Saturday rota (8:30am-4:00pm) with time off in lieu, and we're open to part-time hours for the right candidate-because we know work-life balance matters. While based mainly in Addlestone, there may be occasional travel to our Woking and Bagshot branches.
A Place to Call Home
If you're relocating or simply want the convenience, we can also offer self-contained accommodation at our Bagshot practice. It's a comfortable and practical option that makes settling in that bit easier.
Life in Addlestone
Addlestone is a friendly Surrey town with a warm community feel and everything you need on your doorstep. From riverside walks along the Wey to exploring Chertsey Meads or paddleboarding with friends, it's a great spot for outdoor adventures. The town itself offers modern leisure facilities, a cinema, shops, and plenty of cafés, while larger hubs like Weybridge, Woking, and Guildford are close by. With quick links to the M25 and regular trains into London, Addlestone strikes the perfect balance between relaxed local living and excellent connections.
