Be The Light CIC is a purpose-driven social enterprise created to ensure that no parent or carer by their child’s hospital bedside ever feels alone, unseen, or unsupported. We deliver lived-experience talks, wellbeing workshops, CSR partnerships, and community campaigns to create sustainable income that supports Amelia’s Light, our charitable initiative currently in the process of registering. With the consent of the CIC Regulator, 40% of surplus profits will be donated to Amelia’s Light, while 60% is retained for operational sustainability.

The Role

We are looking for a voluntary Co-Director with strong financial acumen and a passion for social impact. This is an unpaid position to begin with, but a rare opportunity to help shape and grow a CIC from its early stages.

You will:

• Work alongside the founding director to develop growth and sustainability strategies.
• Provide financial oversight and guidance (budgeting, forecasting, reporting).
• Support with fundraising and income generation, including partnerships, sponsorships, and grants.
• Champion our mission, ensuring decisions reflect both impact and compliance.

Who We’re Looking For

• Background in finance, fundraising, CFO, or senior charity/social enterprise management.
• Aligned with our mission to support families experiencing prolonged hospital stays with their children.
• A strategic thinker, collaborative, and committed to building something that truly makes a difference.

Time Commitment

Flexible and remote-friendly. Likely 2–4 hours per month initially, including virtual meetings.
