About the Role

We’re Tiro - a leading provider of science and technology apprenticeships. We’re looking for a Work Based Learning Coach to join our team to support learners through their Level 3 Laboratory Technician qualification. Preference for applicants with a background in Polymer Manufacturing.

The Role

In this role, you’ll help change the world through science and technology apprenticeships with a focus on developing the next generation of Laboratory Technicians. You’ll drive the progress of your learners, keeping them on track to complete their training programme. By combining your lab testing or materials testing industry expertise and technical knowledge of laboratory skills with coaching and training skills, you’ll support learners to embed workplace experiences and accelerate competency in the workplace. You’ll be a strong relationship builder who puts learners’ interests first and collaborates with learners, employers and workplace mentors to achieve the best outcomes. Please note that travel to support and coach learners across different locations is required.

You should enjoy helping British businesses grow and be genuinely passionate about science and technology. You should be obsessed with all things science and excited to share knowledge with the next generation of Laboratory Technicians. You’ll thrive in customers’ labs and facilities across the UK, working with learners and stakeholders to bring learning to life. You should be a self-starter, a strong collaborator, able to handle pace, and willing to take calculated risks and challenge us to improve.

Safeguarding

This role involves contact with learners from 16 years old upwards. Tiro is committed to safeguarding and wellbeing. Safeguarding checks will be part of the application process and successful candidates will be required to complete a Disclosure Form from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Failure to declare convictions that are not DBS-filtered may disqualify you from joining Tiro.

The Package

  • Starting salary of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum depending on experience
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
