We're recruiting on behalf of a small government body in their search for a Finance Officer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected public sector organisation and play a key role in supporting service delivery through the efficient, accurate, and compliant administration of grant funding.

The role:

• Ensure project expenditure is eligible, accurate, and aligned with approved budgets.
• Produce verification reports, flagging non-compliance and recommending recovery actions.
• Confirm project delivery aligns with grant conditions and Letters of Offer.
• Adapt verification scope based on project size and risk.
• Report irregularities with suggested improvements.
• Contribute to the evaluation of funding schemes and internal processes.
• Maintain secure financial records and support audit activities.

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential:

• 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above), including Maths and English.
• Experience carrying out verification or audit of expenditure.

OR

• Experience working in financial accounting.

OR

• Experience conducting payroll processing.
• Experience reviewing financial processes and / or controls.
