We are recruiting Graduates for Energy Networks (Transmission & Distribution) with a flexible approach and appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. The programme runs for two years and aims to support personal and professional development through blended learning, mentoring and on-the-job experience.

We are recruiting Graduates for this team in the following locations: Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and London.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Working as a Graduate in Energy Networks will involve designing and implementing robust power networks to enable the UK\'s transition to a net-zero economy.
  • Contribute to the engineering and delivery of projects across transmission and distribution, supporting senior engineers, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Engage in technical design activities, feasibility studies, reporting, site visits, project management support, stakeholder engagement and continuous learning.
  • Engineering Design Support: assist with the design of electrical and civil components for transmission and distribution projects (substations, overhead lines, underground routes).
  • Feasibility Studies: support initial project assessments through data analysis and site surveys to identify effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Technical Reporting: prepare reports, drawings and specifications documenting design choices and project progress.
  • Site Visits and Inspections: survey existing infrastructure and monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Project Management Assistance and Stakeholder Engagement: assist with scheduling, cost tracking, risk assessment and communications with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Continuous Learning: stay up-to-date with industry standards and engineering technologies.

What You Will Be Looking For

  • You will have graduated with at least a 2:1 in a master\'s degree in a relevant subject for the role.
  • Be able to start work in either April or September 2026.
  • A passion for engineering and consulting with an enthusiasm for infrastructure and creativity to solve problems.
  • A willingness to share ideas and lead with new thinking; able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in dynamic project environments.
  • Application requires you to complete the application form in full with all specific questions answered; this is mandatory. If you pass this stage, you will then complete an online skill enabler assessment.

The two-year Graduate Development programme offers core business and professional skills training, career development workshops, mentoring for professional registration and a breadth of on-the-job experiences. We provide training, mentoring and pathways toward chartered or incorporated professional status.
