Overview
We are looking for graduates for our Sustainable Water Management team, who have a flexible approach and an appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. We want you to enjoy working in a collaborative environment where you can apply your skills working for a diverse range of clients and projects.
We are recruiting for Graduates in the following services and locations:
- Rivers and Coast: London, Bristol, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds
- Catchment Science: London, Bristol, Newcastle, Glasgow, Shrewsbury
- Flood Risk Modelling: London, Bristol, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool
- Flood Risk & Water EIA: London, Bristol, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Basingstoke, Wrexham
Comprising of 350 water science and engineering professionals our Sustainable Water Management teams work across a wide spectrum of services covering flood risk, water resources, hydrology, flood modelling, sustainable urban drainage, water quality, water EIA, hydromorphology, hydroecology and hydrogeology. Through our projects we provide high quality technical services and advice to a wide range of high-profile clients in the UK and overseas, including government departments and agencies, the water industry, and other industrial sectors, including power, transport, nuclear and mining.
Projects and day-to-day activities
Graduates are likely to be involved in a diverse range of projects across the UK water sector, such as East West Rail watercourse design, Rotherham flood alleviation scheme and South Wales flood protection schemes.
- Delivery of a wide variety of civil engineering river and flood related schemes
- Preparing and supporting business cases for works to protect from flooding
- Developing outline and detailed designs for engineering flood projects including hydraulic systems, flood defences, drainage and ancillary structures
- Preparing work schedules and specifications for contractors
- Carrying out asset inspection works of above and below ground structures
- Working with local authorities and national environmentally based organisations
Rivers and Coast team
Graduates in the Rivers and Coast team will be working in a supportive and innovative team, delivering engineering solutions to rivers and flood challenges around the UK. Previous graduates have worked on Kendal Flood Alleviation Scheme and East West Rail watercourse management.
- Day-to-day activities include delivery of civil engineering river and flood related schemes
Flood Risk Modelling and Flood Risk & Water EIA
Effective stormwater and flood risk management reduces and mitigates the adverse impacts of population growth and urban development. Graduates will help clients define and respond to stormwater threats and develop management practices that address water quality issues. Our solutions manage and protect surface water resources for the long term. You will be joining a supportive environment and enthusiastic team, collaborating with colleagues and adapting to dynamic project environments.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
You’ll have graduated with at least a 2:1 in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant subject for the role you are applying for. To assist you in finding potential areas of the business that are relevant to you, please visit our Graduate brochure or Graduate website.
