A Technical Business Analyst is required to support the Data Platform Team by translating business requirements into deliverable user stories. Reporting to the Data Platforms Manager, the role involves running discovery sessions across departments within Data and Digital, documenting processes and procedures in Azure DevOps, and identifying collaboration opportunities, handover points, and potential improvements. The role also includes assisting teams with configuring Azure DevOps in line with agreed processes (including testing), facilitating workshops to gather user stories and requirements, and converting these into actionable work items. Additionally, the Technical Business Analyst will support the Data Platforms Manager in reviewing DevOps-managed activities.
What you’ll do
- Working with the Data Platforms Manager, work to align the Data Hub team ways of working, with the agreed approach adopted by the Data Platform Team
- Outline best practice approaches to requirements capture within DevOps
- Work closely with the Data Platform Manager to ensure the discovery, documentation and remediation work to standards, solutions architecture and data management frameworks
- Ensure delivery proceeds in alignment with agreed project management processes, governance and reporting structures, is delivered to a high standard, on time and within agreed budgets.
- Design and align development approaches within the Data Platform team and Data Hub team to best practice approaches within Microsoft DevOps
- Develop and enforce DevOps standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and convert to technical requirements
- Document agreed approaches following agreement with the development teams
- Configure MS DevOps to align with the agreed practices and principles

Location:Ideally, you'll be based in Aberdeen and open to a hybrid working pattern (3 days onsite, 2 from home), but we're also happy to consider candidates based in London or working remotely.
