MCS Group is proud to be working with a global business with a strong presence in Dublin as they seek a Development Team Technical Lead to establish and guide a software development function focused on scalable data platforms. This role combines hands‑on technical architecture with team leadership, ensuring robust design, development, and delivery of high‑quality data solutions. You’ll define the technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and mentor a small, collaborative team of developers. A strong background in Python (including Pandas and PySpark) is essential, along with deep experience in data systems architecture, AWS, and modern development practices (Agile, CI/CD, OOP). 12 month daily rate contract opportunity with strong opportunity to extend beyond that. (Hybrid - Dublin City Centre) The Job

Define and implement technical strategy and architectural patterns for a new data platform. Lead and mentor a distributed development team. Design and optimise scalable data pipelines and data models. Ensure code quality, security, and maintainability through best practices. Work closely with business and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.

The Person

Extensive experience leading software development teams. Extensive experience in software design and architecture. Expertise in Python with strong experience in Pandas and PySpark. Proven experience with AWS tools (Glue, Athena, Redshift, S3, etc.). Strong understanding of CI/CD, Agile development, and test automation. Degree in Computer Science or related field; AWS Associate certifications strongly preferred.
