Access Control & Security Systems Engineer

Location: Various contracts as required - predominantly Westminster and surrounding areas.

About the Role

A long-established building services provider is seeking an experienced engineer to work on a variety of electronic security and communication systems. The organisation supports clients across social housing, public services and the private sector, and is known for delivering reliable mechanical, electrical and security solutions.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for maintaining, installing and fault-finding on systems such as intruder alarms, access control, warden call units, communal aerial equipment and CCTV setups. All tasks must be completed safely and in accordance with recognised industry requirements and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and service door entry systems, warden call equipment, automatic gates/doors, CCTV (including IP-based systems) and intruder alarms
  • Carry out planned maintenance on all relevant systems
  • Complete inspections, testing and compliance checks in line with applicable British Standards
  • Provide clear daily updates to your line manager, including any concerns about workload, timing or resource needs
  • Undertake additional tasks appropriate to the position as required

Candidate Profile

  • Have previous experience within social housing or local authority maintenance environments
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Ideally have exposure to systems from manufacturers such as ISM, GDX, Entrotec, SML, PAC, KMS, Record, GEZE, Galaxy or Texecom (training can be provided)
  • Communicate effectively and approach problems with a logical, analytical mindset
  • Be self-driven, adaptable and keen to broaden their skillset
  • Work well both independently and alongside colleagues

Essential Requirement

Full UK driving licence

Salary & Benefits

  • £35,000-£40,000 per year, depending on experience

Additional Details

  • Initial probation period: 3 months
  • Hours: 42.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  • Paid weekly via BACS
