Position Overview

We are seeking an Account Manager Sales Manager to oversee a regional EMEA territory for current accounts and outbound prospecting for new business for the Game Developers Conference (GDC), the world's premier event for the B2B games market ecosystem. GDC takes place every March in San Francisco and attracts nearly 30,000 attendees and over 400 exhibitors/partners along with 1,000 speakers and hundreds of press/analysts.

The Account Manager will drive sponsorship & exhibit space revenue growth and digital/media marketing partnerships for GDC, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, while maintaining and expanding existing relationships within the gaming industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute new business account prospecting plans to achieve revenue targets
  • Identify and secure new sponsorship opportunities and partnership deals
  • Build and maintain relationships with current sponsors/exhibitors, including identifying upsell opportunities
  • Create compelling proposals and presentations for potential partners
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with sponsors and partners
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and content teams to create integrated solutions
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify account growth opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential business opportunities
  • Track and analyze performance metrics, preparing regular reports

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Business development or sales experience, preferably in gaming or events industry
  • Proven ability to manage a territory with both new business/prospecting skills and current account management/relationship building
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets
  • Understanding of the gaming industry ecosystem, and aptitude to stay in tune with industry trends
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Superior communication and presentation abilities
  • Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
  • Experience in developing and executing business strategies
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales tools

Desired Skills

  • Experience in events or conference industry
  • Established network within the gaming industry
  • Knowledge of sponsorship and partnership structures
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of digital marketing and content strategies
  • Experience with budget management and forecasting
