Job Summary

Are you skilled client manager, adept at upselling? Do you have experience managing client accounts in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry?

We are recruiting for an experienced Account Manager in the UK, to join us in a hybrid capacity. To deliver excellent client service and to drive existing business forward. The role will have around 40% travel and ideal location would be near a major airport, as in and out of country travel is required. Responsible for achieving quarterly and annual sales targets for assigned region for all Charles River product and services into commercial accounts in a designated geographical region.

We would also welcome an additional EU language with German as a preference, Italian, French, Spanish from any suitable applicants.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned region.
  • Work closely with Management and the Business Development Manager to support existing customers, identify new / upselling opportunities, and ensure successful implementation and ongoing testing success.
  • Work with internal teams (SPS, PM, Management, etc.) to increase market share and revenue at assigned accounts.
  • Generate account-specific sales strategies to sell all company products and services.
  • Prepare and provide accurate account forecasts for assigned accounts/territories when required by management.
  • Develop and qualify account leads through frequent customer contact and prospecting.
  • Conduct regular Business Review meetings based on customer prioritisation to assess challenges and gather intel on reagent usage.
  • Utilise customer input from Field Customer Support to identify cross-selling / upselling opportunities and competitive activities.
  • Monitor key metrics (service usage, complaints) to intervene before dissatisfaction escalates.
  • Build relationships with customers to influence the acceptance and use of company products and services.
  • Communicate available products and services and inform customers of new products and services in a timely manner.
  • Utilise CRM (SFDC) to capture customer information including pipelines and opportunity management and activity documentation.
  • Collaborate with specialist sales staff to ensure a cohesive and responsive team throughout the sales process.
  • Develop knowledge of competitor profiles and positioning to influence potential customers.
  • Consistently achieve revenue targets and demonstrate proficiency in selling Products and Services.
  • Complete all required sales documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Sales Meetings and Trade Shows as required.
  • Share customer problems/concerns with appropriate departments for quality resolution.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and implement a comprehensive territory management plan to indicate target opportunities and expansion of existing accounts and an analysis of competitor accounts.
  • Participate in internal Pilot teams and provide feedback.
  • Lead customer and internal webinars/trainings and lead Sales meeting sessions with presentations.
  • Participate in internal development programs as requested (mentoring, brand knowledge, marketing, key account management or sales leadership projects).
  • Participate in internal beta testing applications where applicable.
  • Coordinate events within your territory to generate new leads and opportunities.
  • Completed Challenger Sales Training and apply it to sales strategy and communication with potential customers.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life sciences, sales or related discipline.
  • Experience: Extensive sales / account experience in life sciences industry or similar.
