Centronic, now part of Exosens, is a long established specialist manufacturing engineering SME serving customers in high reliability sectors, designing and manufacturing detector products across diverse applications for UK and export markets.

The role is to advance the Geiger Muller Tube product-line by building relationships and driving sales. It is based in Croydon (UK) and combines with an OEM sales focus on our Photodiode product-line. Work from home is an option with routine presence in Croydon to build internal relationships and maintain product knowledge.

The OEM Sales Manager will develop subject matter expertise and implement targeted business plans to generate new business while maintaining, cultivating and expanding existing client relationships. The post holder is expected to develop robust partnerships with integrators and system manufacturers globally. The role is the customer-facing representative of Centronic in the UK and abroad, identifying opportunities, responding to RFIs & RFQs, negotiating and winning work, and maintaining and growing turnover and profitability.

You will triage opportunities, conduct commercial reviews, prepare tenders or quotes, submit offers, negotiate, and review contracts for standard, variant and project works in line with company processes and procedures. You will understand customer commercial and technical requirements, translate these into products and services, escalate to relevant internal technical resources, and act as the client champion to meet required outcomes. You will identify and mitigate safety, environmental and commercial risks and escalate them as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and present a business plan for the Geiger Muller Tube product-line to management on a quarterly/annual basis.
  • Provide contact reports, trip reports, and related analyses to management and Business Units.
  • Interact professionally to ensure consistent and timely service levels to internal and external customers.
  • Engage with customers to understand commercial and technical requirements and translate these into a compliant product offering.
  • Prepare quotation and/or tender packages considering technical requirements, price, delivery, risk, and contract terms to win profitable contracts.
  • Ensure timely internal circulation, review, and approval of bids and contracts.
  • Ensure contracts can be satisfied with acceptable profitability and risk; adhere to sign-off policy.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are communicated and met.
  • Promote health and safety values within the company.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales in relevant areas, plus at least 3+ years in B2B OEM sales.
  • Experience managing distribution channels in a global environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (at least 60%); clean driving licence.
  • Basic understanding of radiation physics and radiation safety guidelines/regulations.
  • Understanding of business, including familiarity with financial statements.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy; strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Customer-focused with ability to work across departments; strong communication skills.
  • Ability to forecast business and manage to budgeted expenses for the assigned territory.
  • Experience locating, training, and developing channel partnerships for growth.
  • Ability to support marketing programs and relevant international tradeshows.
  • Maintain client activities using the company CRM system.
