Position: Accountancy Team Manager

Location: Harborough, Leicestershire

Salary: £44,711 to £47,754 + Benefits (Plus pay award pending)

Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working

Harborough District Council is seeking an experienced Accountancy Team Leader/Manager to support Directors, Heads of Service, and budget managers in managing their budgets effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Budget Management: Provide regular, timely financial information and analysis to assist management.
• Technical Advice: Offer expert advice on revenue and capital budgets to the finance team and other departments.
• Training: Conduct financial training sessions to improve budget managers' skills.
• Monitoring & Compliance: Oversee expenditure, income variances, and advise on legislation.
• Financial Statements: Manage production and liaising with auditors.
• Month-End & Year-End Reporting: Assist with reporting processes.
• Capital Expenditure Monitoring: Collaborate on monitoring reports.
• Treasury Management: Oversee treasury functions.
• VAT Return: Complete VAT returns and deputize as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in financial management and accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of budget management, financial reporting, legislation.
• Membership of CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
