Our client, a leading Global Banking Group, is seeking a talented Accounting & Control – AVP for their Financial Reporting & Expenses team. This pivotal role supports the wider team in ensuring the integrity of general ledger balances and controls, meeting reporting obligations to all stakeholders, and participating in projects to enhance the reporting landscape.

In this impactful role, you will:

  • Deliver insights on expenses, headcount, and fixed assets to support management decisions.
  • Reconcile general ledger and fixed assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Streamline operations through process improvements and automation.
  • Collaborate with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to simplify F&C processes.
  • Partner with front and non-front office teams (OAD, F&C, IT, HR) to ensure clear financial reporting.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and controls for reliable financial statements.
  • Coach and develop junior team members to strengthen team capability.

What you bring to the table:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent), with 5+ years’ finance experience, in banking.
  • Strong technical skills: period-end close, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Excel; Power BI/Power Query a plus.
  • Experience with reporting systems, general ledger and regulatory/statutory reporting.
  • Proven analytical skills with ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, with experience in process improvement, controls, or automation.
