Role overview

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Accounting, Insight & Advisory (AIA) team. In this role, you will be a key member of the growing Finance Function Support national team, with a focus on private businesses within the Northern region. You will support the wider team and assist managers to deliver work across a portfolio of SME corporate clients, focusing on annual compliance needs, relationship building, and solving day-to-day issues clients face. This includes applying accounting standards under FRS 102 and FRS 105 across a wide variety of industries and specialist areas.

The department is fast-growing, offering opportunities to develop skills including business development and coaching of junior staff. You will also have opportunities to expand your internal network and work with colleagues across the UK, as well as support your local office.

What you’ll make an impact on

  • Supporting managers to deliver an all-round premium service and high-quality end products to clients
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including client care, project management and WIP/billing management
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact
  • Taking the lead or supervision on assignments as required
  • Training and developing junior team members, providing support and constructive feedback

What we are looking for

  • ACA qualified or equivalent
  • UK GAAP experience – FRS 102 and FRS 105
  • Experience of working in a professional practice, ideally in an equivalent accounting advisory team
  • A strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements
  • Experience working with clients
  • Experience supervising junior staff
  • Previous experience with CCH Accounts Production is desirable but not essential
