Role Overview

The successful individual will take on a mixed role, with a focus on 80% accounts preparation and 20% audit assignments. You will work with a diverse client base that includes SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and not-for-profits across a range of sectors.

This position would suit someone who enjoys the challenge of combining hands-on accounts work with occasional audit exposure, and who thrives in a client-facing role. You'll be supported by a friendly, close-knit team and benefit from a collaborative and progressive working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Completion of corporation tax returns and supporting tax computations
  • Leading or supporting on a small portfolio of audit assignments, primarily onsite or in-house, for a range of clients
  • Liaising directly with clients, building strong working relationships, and acting as a point of contact
  • Supervising and reviewing work prepared by junior staff
  • Ensuring assignments are completed to a high standard and in line with deadlines
  • Supporting partners and managers with ad-hoc advisory and project work as required

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA Qualified or at final stages of qualification
  • Strong experience in accounts preparation within a UK practice environment
  • Some audit exposure is desirable (full training can be provided if needed)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
