Role Overview
The successful individual will take on a mixed role, with a focus on 80% accounts preparation and 20% audit assignments. You will work with a diverse client base that includes SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and not-for-profits across a range of sectors.
This position would suit someone who enjoys the challenge of combining hands-on accounts work with occasional audit exposure, and who thrives in a client-facing role. You'll be supported by a friendly, close-knit team and benefit from a collaborative and progressive working environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Completion of corporation tax returns and supporting tax computations
- Leading or supporting on a small portfolio of audit assignments, primarily onsite or in-house, for a range of clients
- Liaising directly with clients, building strong working relationships, and acting as a point of contact
- Supervising and reviewing work prepared by junior staff
- Ensuring assignments are completed to a high standard and in line with deadlines
- Supporting partners and managers with ad-hoc advisory and project work as required
Requirements
- ACA / ACCA Qualified or at final stages of qualification
- Strong experience in accounts preparation within a UK practice environment
- Some audit exposure is desirable (full training can be provided if needed)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
