  • Manage aged debt and the sales ledger (income processing and debt management) with robust financial controls and continuous improvements across AR.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to recover income proactively and handle customer queries. Provide training and support on AR processes to end-users.

If you are starting your finance career or are part-qualified, study support for a Kaplan apprenticeship is available.

What will I be doing in more detail

  • Oversee day-to-day AR service-level agreements, ensuring AR KPIs and targets are met.
  • Be the expert on Order to Cash processes and ensure effective control for sales invoice generation.
  • Support cash collection to maximise cash flow and ensure key AR financial controls are adhered to.
  • Post income Interfaces weekly (including Legacy systems, Siebel, Retail adjustments, RAG income, Online income reconciliation) and support CRM migration from Siebel to Salesforce next year.
  • Collaborate with Supporter Income to ensure funds are processed and posted promptly; provide daily bank statements and resolve posting errors for accurate bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain bank accounts information in Siebel production and support reporting by breaking down accounts by product and transaction type (e.g., VAT, Gift Aid, Legacy income).
  • Manage foreign income accounting with Supporter Income to improve and automate this process.
  • Open sales ledger mail, batch banking of cheques, and support month-end close.
  • Own the sales ledger function: proactively manage aged debt, chase and provision/write-off as needed, approve sales orders via Business World, perform weekly income receipting, manage customer communications, and maintain customer data quality in Business World.
  • Maintain and improve KPIs within targets set by the AP & AR Manager; deliver training and support to end-users and internal stakeholders.
  • Handle Finance Helpdesk queries, ensure SLAs are met, and gather customer feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Strong sales ledger management with a continuous improvement mindset and knowledge of AR best practices and controls.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and KPIs while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong customer focus with a solutions-driven approach to query resolution.
  • Willingness to learn how to deliver training to end-users and colleagues.
