What’s the role? We’re looking for experienced actuarial students with relevant UK DB Pensions industry experience to join our team. As a challenger in the industry, we are seeking individuals with excellent pensions consulting and technical skills, a commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the delivery of UK DB Pensions advice to clients – this may include managing key client projects directly, and/or supporting our partners and directors to deliver to our clients.
- Work on the technical aspects of projects and build relationships with clients, work as part of a team and develop those around you.
- Assist in the development of new business, with existing and new clients.
- As an Assistant Manager, lead the advancement of typical projects while supporting junior colleagues within the team.
- Perform actuarial valuations and calculations for Trustees and advise on how to run their schemes.
- Develop pensions strategies for corporate, public and not-for-profit organisations.

- Provide insurance transaction and scheme consolidation advice.
- Engage in data projects such as benefit rectifications, pensions dashboards and GMP equalisation.
Qualifications and skills
- A great communicator – explain complex problems in simple terms for clear understanding.
- Enthusiasm and motivation to solve problems and deliver excellent advice.
- Excellent project management and client delivery skills – especially when balancing multiple demands.
- A great team worker – working with client project teams and supporting others.
- Commercial skills – curiosity to help develop the business and identify new opportunities.
- Technical experience – experience in the UK DB pensions industry or transferable actuarial skills.
- Qualifications – likely near an actuarial qualification (FIA/FFA or equivalent). Apprenticeships, internships or industrial placements are beneficial.
Values and core commitments
- Power in Partnership: building open, trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Future Focus: solving problems in better ways to benefit clients and society.
- Strength in Difference: diverse perspectives lead to better solutions.
- People First: pensions is a people business; people’s lives are affected by our advice.
