We’re growing and want you to be part of our journey. Our Actuarial & Consulting Team includes over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries advising clients across private, public and not-for-profit sectors. This role is part of the Risk Settlement team, which provides full insurance de-risking services for Defined Benefit pension schemes and services to insurers. Isio anticipates significant growth in this sector in the coming years.
What’s the role? We’re looking for experienced consultants, either part or fully qualified actuaries, with relevant risk settlement experience to help grow this specialist team. We value excellent pensions consulting and technical skills, a commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of advice to clients, including managing key client projects directly and/or supporting partners and directors to deliver to clients.
- Engage in the technical aspects of projects, build relationships with clients directly, work as part of a team and develop colleagues.
- Assist in the development of new business with existing and new clients.
- Technical responsibilities include: understanding the pensions insurance industry and building relationships with insurers; developing client strategies to approach the insurance market; preparing schemes to approach insurers; providing client advice on transactions to meet objectives; supporting clients through post-transaction processes to wind-up.
- Opportunity to develop technical expertise and consulting skills to lead the delivery of broking projects for clients as you progress.
There will be opportunities to work across various de-risking consulting areas and collaborate with other specialist teams to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
Where is the role?
The Risk Settlement team operates across multiple UK offices. Location options include Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Reading. We work on a hybrid basis, with a mix of office and home working. Isio fosters strong communities through regular team-building, charity and social events.
Key skills and experience
- Experience: Part or fully qualified actuary (FFA/FIA) with relevant risk settlement experience.
- Technical expertise: Understanding the pensions insurance industry and using this to develop strategy and support transaction execution for good client outcomes.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex problems clearly to all stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm and motivation: Strong desire to solve problems and deliver excellent advice.
- Project management and client delivery: Excellent ability to balance multiple demands.
- Teamwork: Able to work effectively in a team or manage a team, depending on experience.
- Commercial skills: Help develop the business and seek new opportunities.
