Actuarial Pensions Consultant – Recently Qualified Actuary

Join WTW as a Pension Actuarial Consultant and contribute to our UK Defined Benefit pensions work. We welcome candidates at all stages of their actuarial journey, including part‑qualified, newly qualified and fully qualified actuaries with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on regular valuations, accounting, PPF levies, individual calculations and factor reviews.
  • Work on trustee and corporate assignments, collaborating on innovative, market‑leading projects.
  • Contribute to projects such as integrated risk management, liability management, GMP equalisation, plan design strategy, asset & liability modelling, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and demonstrate strong project management and delegation skills.
  • Engage in team collaboration and build relationships within a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a pension actuary on core UK defined benefit work.
  • IFoA part‑qualified, newly qualified or fully qualified actuary – all levels welcome.
  • Strong client‑service orientation and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven delegation skills and a desire to coach and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Sense of accountability and self‑starter attitude.
  • Ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how work fits into the broader landscape.
