This is a permanent position working within Care First – Pheasey, Walsall area, with the Clinical Team supporting multiple sites in Walsall, Kings Norton and surrounding areas. The post is part of a multidisciplinary clinical team embedded in the education provision to maximise clinical outcomes for adults with learning difficulties/disabilities, autism and mental health needs.

Salary is up to £60,000 depending on experience, plus a £3,000 Welcome Bonus. Hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overlap with core school hours; part-time arrangements may be considered. The role supports a person-centred, safeguarding-focused service within a MDT framework to improve the quality of life and independence of adults in education settings.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to bespoke assessment and intervention plans for adults supported by the service.
• Deliver specialist psychological services within an MDT setting in collaboration with Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy teams.
• Support service development, multi-disciplinary working, and clinical governance across the provision.
• Support growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants and participate in training, CPD and research activity where appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of clinical practice, record-keeping and reporting; ensure safeguarding and person-centred approaches are applied in all activities.

Essential Criteria

  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to introduction of relevant Doctorate)
  • Relevant experience in related settings or with related client groups
  • Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working and collaboration with internal/external agencies
  • Experience of working with families/carers and diverse stakeholders
  • Experience across different systems within an organisation (service development, group and individual work)
  • Experience of using a model of assess, plan, do and review; experience with consultation as a service delivery method
  • Competence in core areas of psychological practice per HCPC standards
  • Knowledge of client group needs, trauma-informed practice and neuro-diversity
  • Ability to develop formulations and inform intervention plans
  • Ability to provide training to different cohorts
  • High-quality clinical records, including reports and intervention plans
  • Excellent communication skills in complex situations
  • IT skills or aptitude to learn core IT platforms
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of professionals and contribute to service development
  • Ongoing CPD evidence; ability to use evaluation tools to demonstrate outcomes
  • Ability to make independent clinical decisions when needed
  • Strong time management and organisational skills; ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to undertake induction and travel for company business; full driving licence and access to a car

Desirable

  • Experience with specific client groups (e.g., neuro-diverse, social/emotional/mental health) and settings (schools or residential care)
  • Experience providing supervision to others
