London Borough of Havering – Contract: Permanent – Grade 9, Advanced Practitioner (£54,267 to £58,467 pa) with a Market Supplement (£4,000).
Overview
We are recruiting Advanced Practitioners to contribute to the delivery of an effective children’s social care service as part of a social work team, improving outcomes for children and young people and managing caseloads dependent on experience and case complexity. The role uses specialist knowledge for interventions, needs and risk assessments, care planning and child protection investigations.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage and supervise a small number of qualified and non-social work staff.
- Manage a caseload of complex and challenging cases.
- Support the team manager in maintaining and developing high professional standards across the team.
- Have specialist knowledge of an area of social work practice with children and families that can be used across the service. Represent the service in developing key service provision or local strategic initiatives.
- Take responsibility for developing skills, expertise and knowledge for a wide range of practice issues and provide consultation, coaching and mentoring within the team, including effective case management, evidence-based interventions, analytical assessments and high-quality written work.
- Support team development and recruitment processes.
Requirements / About the Role
Be prepared to work flexibly, with hybrid working from Havering town hall campus/hubs as required, and participate in team-building activities in line with our practice model. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults is essential. DBS check may be required.
