You will be working in our Child in Need Service, focusing on children and families requiring social work assessment within the locality. We have developed a specialised service to strengthen assessment and planning for children in need, raising their status and ensuring a consistent approach across the borough. The team operates on a duty rota, with social workers undertaking duties such as section 47 enquiries, child and family assessments, and managing a caseload of children supported through child in need planning.

It is essential that workers in this service can build relational partnerships to enhance our work, facilitate safe step-down of plans, and work within families’ timescales.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will coach, support, and supervise designated staff or students, fostering their professional development.

We welcome candidates with UASC experience, particularly those trained or experienced in conducting age assessments.
