Advanced Practitioner - Disabled Children\'s Team at Barnsley Council. Directorate: Children\'s Services | Service: Children & Family Social Care. Salary: £50,269. The post provides an exciting opportunity to join Barnsley Children and Family Social Care as an Advanced Practitioner within the Assessment Service.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Practice Development Hub to deliver the Social Work Academy and mentor Newly Qualified Social Workers through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
- Support the team manager to drive best practice and support learning and development within the team.
- Maintain a manageable caseload while delivering high-quality social work.
Key to our approach is working with residents, partners, businesses and organisations to achieve better outcomes for children and families in Barnsley.
Requirements and Qualifications
- You will be a qualified social worker and registered with Social Work England.
- You will be self-motivated and innovative in your intervention with families.
- You will have experience in statutory children’s social work, including driving plans for vulnerable children within child protection and court contexts.
- You will be committed to supporting and developing teams and workers, with experience mentoring students, NQSWs or colleagues.

- This post requires an Enhanced DBS Check. If you have lived overseas recently, you may need an overseas criminal records check. We will advise if applicable.
- Prospective employees will apply for a Police Vetting Check in addition to the DBS check.
