Overview

London Borough of Havering is recruiting an Advanced Practitioner - Safeguarding (Starting Well). Contract: Permanent. Grade 9- Advanced Practitioner £54,267 - £58,461 per annum with an additional Market Supplement (MS) of £4,000.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and supervise a small number of qualified and non-social work staff.
  • Manage a caseload of complex and challenging cases.
  • Support the team manager in maintaining and developing high professional standards across the team.
  • Have specialist knowledge of an area of social work practice with children and families that can be used across the service. Represent the service in developing key service provision or local strategic initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for developing skills, expertise and knowledge for a wide range of practice issues and provide consultation, coaching and mentoring within the team, including effective case management, purposeful evidence-based interventions, analytical assessments and high-quality written work.
  • Support team development and recruitment processes.

About the role

The London Borough of Havering is looking to recruit Advanced Practitioners to contribute to the delivery of an effective children’s social care service as part of a social work team, improving outcomes for children and young people, and manage caseloads dependent upon experience, grade of post and complexity of cases, utilising specialist knowledge for appropriate interventions, needs and risk assessments, care planning and child protection investigations.

If successful in your application for the role of Advanced Practitioner, you will/will be: contribute to delivery of safeguarding services and support the continuous improvement journey within the Starting Well Department.

In this role, you are expected to work from our town hall campus when required.
