Overview

Join the Urgent & Emergency Care Team with posts available in South and Mid Nottinghamshire. We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic and compassionate individuals with relevant knowledge, skills and expertise in all areas of Social Work practice and hospital discharge to join us in our Urgent and Emergency Care Teams.

This is a role where you will develop as a practice lead, supporting the Team Manager to implement change and embed new ways of working. You will enable integrated working with partners and promote independence through reablement and enablement approaches. The role includes supervising and mentoring staff and managing a small complex caseload of mixed priority work. Experience of safeguarding vulnerable people and acting as a safeguarding manager for supervisees is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop as a practice lead to support the Team Manager in implementing change and embedding new ways of working.
  • Promote strength-based approaches to ensure people and their carers can assess and manage their own needs, risks and uncertainties where possible.
  • Work with other Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Community Care Officers in a fast-paced team.
  • Supervise and mentor staff and manage a small, complex caseload of mixed priority work.
  • Safeguarding responsibilities for the people you supervise, including acting as safeguarding manager.
  • Promote the principles of choice, control, personalisation and self-directed support.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Office presence: 2 days per week

Qualifications and Licensing

You must have a Social Work Qualification and be registered by Social Work England. You will either be an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) a Best Interests Assessor (BIA) or Practice Educator (Level 2). Knowledge and experience of safeguarding adults in multi-agency procedures and experience of staff supervision, training and development are expected. A full driving license and use of a car for work are required.
