Advisor - Water Resources Resilience - 31494

The Environment Agency is fully committed to fostering an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We actively seek, embrace, and live diversity for the benefit of our staff, communities, and the environment.

It’s an exciting time to be involved in planning England’s water resources. Our water supply faces increasing pressure from droughts and dry weather, with recent publications like the National Framework for Water Resources guiding our future efforts. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring its success.

Originally published in March 2020, the framework marked a significant step in planning for resilient water resources amid climate change, droughts, and population growth, alongside environmental enhancement. The 2025 update emphasizes the urgency of these challenges, promoting integrated planning across sectors and regions.

Your responsibilities will include supporting activities to implement the National Framework, working closely with stakeholders such as Defra, regulators, water companies, energy, and agricultural sectors.
