AI/ML Software Engineer (Remote)

New Yesterday

AI/ML Software Engineer (Remote) Join BJAK, Southeast Asia’s largest digital insurance platform, as an AI/ML Software Engineer. Build intelligent systems that make finance simpler, smarter, and more inclusive for millions of users across Southeast Asia. 📍 Working arrangement: United Kingdom (Remote – work from anywhere in the UK) Why This Role Matters
Your work will directly impact user experience, platform efficiency, and intelligence. You’ll deliver production‑grade AI systems that serve millions of users. Collaborate cross‑functionally and build scalable ML tools from the ground up. Grow quickly in a lean, high‑impact engineering environment.
What You’ll Do
Partner with product, data, and engineering teams to define ML goals and strategies. Design, build, and deploy machine learning models that power personalization, automation, and insight generation. Manage the ML lifecycle: data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment. Build scalable ML infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Integrate ML outputs into user‑facing products and backend systems. Stay current with AI/ML trends and apply relevant innovations to our stack. Contribute to debugging, testing, and optimization of production ML systems.
You’ll Thrive Here If You…
Take full ownership – you build models and ensure they drive real‑world results. Are a self‑starter who figures things out fast, even with no manual or roadmap. Move with urgency – ship fast and improve even faster. Own problems end‑to‑end – from messy data to deployment and everything in between. Bring a team‑first attitude – humble, helpful, and raise the bar for surrounding people. Push through chaos – startup pace, shifting priorities, and ambiguity don’t throw you off. Learn obsessively and share openly – you level up fast and help others do the same.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong proficiency in Python is a must. 2–4 years of experience in machine learning or backend software development. Experience using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit‑learn. Solid understanding of ML workflows: data cleaning, model development, tuning, evaluation. Familiar with model deployment, API development, or real‑world ML integration. Experience with tools like Google Colab, Jupyter, and cloud ML platforms. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Must be based in the UK and open to remote collaboration across time zones.
Nice to Have
Experience with NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems. Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). Exposure to Docker, Git, or CI/CD tools. Background working in a high‑growth startup or agile product environment.
What You’ll Get
Competitive salary and performance‑based bonuses. Flexible, fully remote work arrangement from anywhere in the UK. Direct impact – your work reaches millions of users across Asia. Flat structure – your voice is heard and your contributions are seen. Opportunities for rapid personal and technical growth. Regional exposure and collaboration across Southeast Asia.
