As a private partnership, we believe our ownership structure fosters a long-term view that aligns our perspectives with those of our clients.# # About the Role# OverviewOur Risk Management (RM) Team, as members of Wellington’s Enterprise Risk Management function, collaborates with all three lines of defense in an effort to optimize the firm’s strategic and tactical operational risk exposure through continuous key risk identification and monitoring, risk aware decision making, and the development and driving of the risk agenda and related mitigation strategies.In response to the rapidly evolving landscape of operational risk, Wellington Management recognizes the growing importance of data-driven insights in effective risk management. As such, we are seeking candidates who bring not only a strong understanding of operational risk, but also advanced data analytics skills to inform and enhance our frameworks and decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in leveraging data to identify emerging risks, generate actionable intelligence, and communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with data visualization tools, statistical analysis software, and the ability to synthesize large data sets into clear risk narratives will be highly valued. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and a demonstrated ability to design and automate risk dashboards or analytics models is a distinct advantage.# The PositionWorking across Wellington’s Asia and EMEA offices and supporting colleagues in the United States, the London-based Risk Analyst will advise and challenge first line management on risk identification and monitoring techniques, risk aware decision making, controls design, and the development of risk priorities and mitigation strategies. In doing so the Analyst will support the implementation of the risk management standards across the firm and work to ensure the function aligns industry and regulatory expectations. The role will report to the Global Head of Risk Management, based in LondonSpecific responsibilities for this role are as follows:* Proactively monitoring the firm’s operational risk profile and controls framework, leveraging advanced data analytics to identify trends, emerging risks, and areas for remediation across governance, process, and technology* Designing, developing, and automating regular and ad hoc risk reports and dashboards, utilizing visualization tools and statistical software to clearly communicate complex risk exposures and findings to a range of stakeholders* Advising the firm on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of risk and controls registers, including the implementation of data-driven residual risk assessments and the establishment of meaningful risk appetite and key risk indicators (KRIs) in collaboration with other ERM teams* Building and maintaining trusted relationships with firmwide peers, collaborating on all matters related to operational risk management, data analytics, and reporting* Executing in-depth risk assessment and controls design advisory engagements for top priority risks, integrating quantitative and qualitative data sources to deliver actionable intelligence* Implementing and continuously improving the enterprise risk management standards with a focus on data quality, consistency, and transparency* Staying abreast of business trends, regulatory changes, and strategic and tactical risks, and using data analytics to anticipate and respond to the evolving risk landscape* Preparing comprehensive and insightful reporting and documentation to support risk management and governance forums, ensuring that data-driven insights are a central part of decision-making* Responding to critical errors, incidents, or testing results requiring timely remediations, with a focus on data collection, root cause analysis, and lessons learned* Testing, deploying, and enhancing the governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) application, with an emphasis on integrating automated data analytics and reporting capabilities# QualificationsThe successful candidate will be an operational risk management professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience within the investment management industry (including consulting, independent audit, or investment management service provider experience) and direct experience with ERM frameworks and GRC applications, and controls design and monitoring of risks in a technology and data focused operational platform.Additional qualifications include:* Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational risk management within the investment management industry, with direct exposure to ERM frameworks, GRC applications, and controls design on technology and data-driven platforms.* Demonstrated technical expertise: proficiency with advanced data analytics, data mining, and visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, and experience with programming languages like Python or R to automate risk reporting and develop actionable dashboards* Exceptional communication skills, with the gravitas and presence to engage confidently with senior leaders and risk committees, articulating complex risk concepts in clear, compelling terms.* Strong stakeholder management and collaboration abilities, demonstrated by successful cross-functional project delivery and advisory roles across diverse operational teams and geographies.* Proven ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information and provide strategic, data-driven insights for high-level decision-making.* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) are highly desirable.* Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree in a quantitative, data science, or risk discipline preferred.Not sure you meet 100% of our That’s ok.
