Role: Anti-Bribery & Corruption Compliance Specialist. Location flexibility: Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester – 3 days onsite / 2 days from home.

The LRACCS Compliance team ensures BT operates in full compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies. By offering expert guidance in risk, compliance, and assurance, the team helps BT deliver excellent customer outcomes while protecting the company from legal and reputational risks.

Key areas of focus

  • Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) – Preventing bribery, fraud, and unethical conduct.
  • Communications Regulation Compliance (CRC) – Ensuring adherence to Ofcom and international telecoms regulations.
  • International Trade Compliance (ITC) – Managing compliance with sanctions and export controls.

The team provides training, guidance, and oversight to ensure BT’s services are legally compliant and ethically delivered.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role you will have sole focus for Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC). The responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering BT’s ABC compliance strategy and methodology.
  • Enhancing internal ABC processes and BT-wide control frameworks.
  • Leading ABC risk assessments for commercial transactions, bids, and public sector engagements.
  • Overseeing due diligence on high-risk third parties, conflicts of interest, and other bribery/fraud risks.
  • Managing and monitoring the Gifts & Hospitality approval process and identifying trends.
  • Providing ABC risk advice to stakeholders on proposed business activities.
  • Coaching teams to improve ABC awareness, understanding, and capability.

Skills and Experiences

Key Skills

  • Excellent communication skills to develop working relationships within BT and with key external stakeholders.
  • Confidence to advise and challenge senior leaders.
  • Excellent influencing skills with matrix management ability.
  • Strong commercial awareness with understanding of the value drivers of the business.
  • Analytical and investigative skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Full understanding of the EU and UK regulatory framework.
  • In-depth knowledge of anti-bribery regulations (UK Bribery Act, ECCTA, US FCPA) and familiarity with Gifts & Hospitality, conflicts of interest, and high-risk third-party impacts for BT.

Key Experiences

  • Hands-on experience with ABC compliance frameworks.
  • 4+ years in compliance, legal, or risk management roles with recent ABC experience.
  • Experience in multinational organizations and complex regulatory environments.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Investigative experience and third-party risk management.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) are desirable.
