About Skyscanner
Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges. That’s why we’ve spent 20 years building tools that turn travel‑planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us each month to skip the whole "47 browser tabs open" phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily. Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that’s striving to become the planet’s go‑to travel hack accessible for all. Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally.

About The Role
Based in Glasgow, Edinburgh or London with a hybrid working policy (office twice a week), the App Marketing Director will lead the end‑to‑end marketing strategy for Skyscanner’s app, driving acquisition, engagement and retention across global markets. The role requires deep mobile marketing expertise, strong cross‑functional collaboration and the ability to shape both brand and performance marketing agendas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the app marketing strategy: define and execute the global strategy for app acquisition, retention and growth, including APAC and LATAM markets, with clear KPIs and ambitious goals.
  • Accelerate new user acquisition: partner with performance and social teams to scale app install campaigns across channels while meeting ROI targets.
  • Drive App Store visibility: lead ASO strategy and experimentation to maximise visibility and downloads on iOS and Android.
  • Optimise web‑to‑app journeys: build seamless conversion paths from web to app, improving landing experiences and increasing activation.
  • Boost retention and re‑engagement: develop targeted strategies to keep users returning, using behavioural insights and in‑app personalisation.
  • Create a compelling proposition: partner with Research, Product and Brand to communicate a clear, differentiated app value to new and existing users.
  • Track performance and scale growth: set install and retention targets, manage app marketing budgets, and act on real‑time data.

About You

  • Mobile‑first marketer with 10+ years of experience and deep expertise in mobile app growth, ASO and lifecycle marketing.
  • Proven growth leader who has successfully scaled app acquisition and engagement in complex, global environments (APAC is a must). Show tangible results.
  • Strategic and hands‑on; comfortable setting strategy and rolling up sleeves to optimise campaigns and experiences.
  • Cross‑functional influencer with experience working closely with product, data, engineering and design teams.
  • Customer‑obsessed, understands user behaviour, values long‑term engagement and puts the traveller at the centre of decisions.
  • Analytical and data‑driven; strong analytical skills and use data to drive investment decisions.
  • Inspirational leader who has built and led high‑performing teams (both direct and virtual), fostering a culture of excellence, pace and creativity.
